Missed

During the weekend many Midwestern US states were pummeled with strong storms and many tornadoes. This tree in front of the Red Herring met an unfortunate fate because of strong winds. At first I thought lightning was the cause, but the real culprits were carpenter ants that had practically hollowed out the base of the trunk.

Fortunately for the building, the tree fell short - literally. Closer inspection of the scene indicated that the tree did not do any damage to the building at all.
